Today when the world's entire scientist community jumped and rejoiced at the landing of a spacecraft sent to Mars, called, "Curiosity"- Indians found an additional reason to celebrate. That's because after flying approximately 567 million kilometers since November 26, 2011, 'Curiosity' landed on the GALE Crater location on a place selected by an award winning, Indian scientist- Dr. Amitabha Ghosh.

Dr. Amitabha Ghosh- a geologist- is the chair of the science operations working group at NASA Mars Exploration Rover Mission.

Saina Nehwal finally did it! Finally she got her due! Finally, she showed to the world that India cannot be under-estimated in the Badminton sport! The Bronze medal that she won at the London Olympics today, isn't just a medal but a reflection of the huge efforts that she put into to bring her talent on the world-stage and do India proud at the global level. Although the medal came in quite an unusual fashion, with the Chinese opponent Wang walking away from the match due to an injury, yet the fact remains, Saina DESERVED an Olympic medal!

Gagan Narang displayed an awesome performance and fetched the first (Bronze) Medal for India at London Olympics 2012 in a 10 m Air Rifle Shooting event. Romania's Alin George Moldoveanu wins gold with 702.1 points while Italy's Niccolo Campriani takes Silver with 701.5. Gagan Narang's final score was 701.1. Expectations were riding high on the only Gold-fetcher Indian-Olympian, Abhinav Bindra -but unfortunately he failed to qualify for the finals at the London Olympics 2012. However, to much of every Indian's happiness, Gagan Narang qualified for the 10 m Air Rifle Final Shooting with score of 598/600
